While no official timetable for his return has been released at this time, Minnesota Timberwolves fans received as positive of an update on Jimmy Butler’s status going forward as anyone could have hoped for following last night’s non-contact injury.
According to a press release from the franchise, after undergoing further testing at the Mayo Clinic, MRI results have confirmed that the Timberwolves’ All-Star swingman suffered a meniscus injury in Butler’s right knee.
Even though the exact severity of this meniscus injury wasn’t revealed in this update, the fact that no damage was apparently done to the ACL in his right knee has to be considered a win for Minnesota.
With just under two months remaining before the postseason begins, the Timberwolves will have to make a decision on whether or not Butler is capable of making it all the way back to help Minnesota in whatever postseason run they will make.
We’ll provide you with more information on Butler’s timetable to return to the floor as it becomes available.
