Rams lineman Andrew Whitworth beat Jared Goff in a rigged passing contest on ‘Ellen’

Rams offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth and quarterback Jared Goff made guest appearances on Wednesday’s episode of Ellen to promote the NFL’s Salute to Service initiatives.

Once Ellen DeGeneres welcomed the two Rams players, she mentioned her Saints fandom but then gave them the opportunity to win Rams tickets for the audience.

Ellen put together a friendly passing competition between the Rams quarterback and offensive lineman. They just made it awfully easy for Whitworth.

The two players threw at three targets and the first to hit all three would win. The problem for Goff was that he was passing from such a longer distance. Sure, he’s an NFL quarterback, but Whitworth plays pro football too. He didn’t need the advantage.

As designed, Whitworth won despite Goff making a solid effort. I still have to think that Drew Brees would have won the game in three attempts, but Whitworth gets the bragging rights over his QB.
