NFL STAR refers to Ben Roethlisberger as a ‘300-pound quarterback’

Ben Roethlisberger worked hard to cut his weight during the offseason. According to the Steeler quarterback, he cut out carbs and simple sugars from his diet in order to lose some pounds.

Roethlisberger has been listed at 241 pounds throughout his career, but that’s probably a little generous. Bengals DE Carlos Dunlap was not so generous when he discussed the challenges of sacking a bigger quarterback under the NFL’s new rules.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Now we don’t know exactly how much Big Ben weighs — he declined to comment when asked this summer — but he certainly weighs less than 300 pounds, CARLOS.

Whatever the case may be, Roethlisberger says it feels good to be carrying around less weight.

“Knees, ankles, being lighter. Those are all positives when it comes to this age and playing football and a sport where you’re pounding on your knees and you’ve had a couple knee surgeries,” Roethlisberger said. “So anything you can do to lighten the load on your knees and ankles is good.”

Good for Ben.
