Dolphins fined for misleading report on Ryan Tannehill injury

The Miami Dolphins have found themselves in some hot water after their reporting of Ryan Tannehill’s shoulder injury.

The Dolphins reported that Tannehill was a full participant in practice ahead of the team’s Week 6 game, but he actually missed a few reps on Thursday that made that designation inaccurate. According to Albert Breer of The MMQB, that was enough to get coach Adam Gase fined $15,000 and the organization as a whole $30,000.

Tannehill did not play in Week 6, and is only just now talking about returning to action.

It seems pretty harsh, but the NFL is very serious about accurate injury reports. This is evidence of that.
